New Website Design & Development From Link Worx Seo

New website developments to enhance user experience.

What has the Agenda Been Like

Okay, recently there have been significant changes going on behind the scenes for the company. Not only has the company created new added features to the custom content management system, a new invoice system has been created as well. The new editions to the system required some intensive Cold Fusion Developing and some well thought out planning. The new edition, includes widgets that can now be used on blog pages created by the administrative users on the fly.

Webpage Creation With Widgets

These widgets can be stacked in any order as you see fit. The decision to change the stacking order revolved around a method know to many as A/B testing. If you are not familiar with A/B testing, it is the testing of more than one version of a web page. If you would like to learn more about A/B testing just search for it and you will find a ton of resources covering the topic. You can also add analytic code to track the different web pages on a three month timeline as well with GA.

By being able to change widget order and selecting which widgets you want for the new web page, you can gain more insight on what works best through various page layouts. Now unfortunately, we do not have a demo at this time; but have plans for one to be created in the future. Will keep you posted.

The widget implementation was a sophisticated but yet tasty addition to the management system. But it was decided that it was just not enough. Next, was the choice of being able to choose between a one column, two column or three column layout for the new web pages being created was a foot. Now this took some doing, but seem to be working great at this point. Although there was one last detail needing to be checked surrounding IE and styling. As we all know, IE is a real bare sometimes when it comes to rendering.

SEO reporting is another great way to keep track of your campaigns.

Webpage Layout Options

After that it was time to do those wonderful taxes. On top of all this, it was long over due to get the tax man up to date. After countless hours of tax forms for five years of taxes and some number crunching I am happy to say it is complete. During this time of making sure the taxes were done correctly, it was decided that a simpler way to bill clients and allow clients to see their billing invoices online was necessary.

Invoice & Reports

Once a user has registered for an account they will now have access to view able invoices and reports. Yet, although these reports are not full-scale graphical reports they at least allow for the client to see how their link building campaign is going. There are plans to add more features to the reports at a latter date, but some more research about a few Cold Fusion tags is going to have to be done first before venturing into the realm of development. Will keep you posted on this coming edition too…

International Formatting

Finally, during the process of all these development editions, it was decided to add some international formatting to the pages. If you happened to view a webpage and it was not found or was just a bad request to a page, my sincere apologize. There were a few unforeseen issue’s with time and date formatting that required some database changes that just had to be done along with some tricky select box manipulation. Along with this time and date formatting problems, it all had to be wrapped around a complex form that controlled the billing and different plan selection choices. Wow, glad I finished it.

New E-mail Design for the News Letter

Online Marketing is not complete without e-mail.

E-mail Marketing News

Anyway, this forced some other changes as well. One change in particular I did not realize until just recently was the news letter being sent out. the HTML version and the inbox version were error prone because of time and date formatting problems. So another apology is in order. Now since the process of updating was taking place for the news letter, I figured what the heck why not just update the entire kit and caboodle.

So without further a do, magically appears a newly designed news letter.  If you have seen or been receiving the old news letter, you are in for a treat. This baby looks great. Was worth the effort and time to revamp it. All known development errors have now been resolved and the new design is much nicer looking.  The promise to provide e-books is on the way as well. At the moment the e-book landing page is not completed but will be hopefully this week  sometime. Was in a hurry to push out the new news letter. So it was opted to show at least a coming soon page.

Content Management Tips

Website Content Management

Website Content Management

There are so many variables when considering optimization and tools to market a website that it can be tough to keep up with at times. This article helped refresh my memory on a few tactics that have not escaped my mind but are not utilized on all the website being optimized. I found the recommendation about content to be very significant during this read. I have seen as we all have seen thousands of websites full of content because someone is trying to place more content on the page because they completely believe content is king and it will bring the crawlers to the website.

Yes, new content is good and can bring the crawlers to your website as scheduled by the site map, but does not mean it will help if the crawlers do not scan it, hence the term (Fresh Relevant Content). This is what makes CMS search engine friendly, because it updates your site and ping’s the engine with a request to come back to your website to be indexed again. Relevant content of course is the prime factor when creating content for the website. The use of 80 words as stated of unique content is interesting and I believe is enough as long as it is relevant and gets your readers attention.

If your placing two keywords inside of the 80 words of content, then what sort of prominence and how many times? From past experience  it seems the search engines indexing this content prefer a limited amount of content and the need to go beyond this amount of content would make what is being said about “80 words” of content being sufficient, very true.

The term “Content Is King” pigs in space 🙂 Ha, Ha,  is valid but when is to much content to much… I have seen website’s rank extremely well in the SERP’s with little to almost no content on the page. This is an indication of how important Off-Page SEO factors are in the formula. The need for content usually seems to come from individuals wanting to establish internal link’s to various pages on the site or outbound links as well or they have been mislead by something they read about optimization. This  type of linking has value and remains as another important factor with On-Page SEO.

The need to produce anchor text has caused individuals to create content on top of content to the point of having a page that extends for miles. This bring’s us back to 80 words is enough content if relevant to what the site is about. This is exactly why I agree with the statement of 80 words being enough. Proof in the pudding – tried, tested, researched, proven and experimented with this suggestion and the amount of content needed. Have found it to be very accurate and true.

Having good structure is where the line’s blend. Anchor text is On-Page SEO and so is structure. You can not have structure without content, Right, Right… So when someone say’s content is KING, they would be correct. Keeping in mind that to much content is overkill. So the use of 80 words allows for content and structure. Also keeping in mind that we want to allow the visitors to navigate easily throughout the site but not over whelming them with content that they probably will not take the time to read. This is the reason for a good call to action along with headlines are significant and extremely important.

Content Management Systems – Joomla – Drupal – WordPress

Content Management Systems

Word Press – CMS

I must agree with most of the thing’s for this post. It was a tad funny, but I just posted a comment on my blog about CMS. I have played around with and installed several of these systems mentioned above. Primarily Joomla and WP. Joomla’s dashboard is a little confusing at first as stated. After spending some time inside of the Joomla dashboard, it started to get much easier. As far as plugins go, WP has the best overall options. Thought Drupal was to unorganized but the frame work was solid. Another option not mentioned above is CMS Light if you do not like Joomla, Drupal or WP. I believe WP is the easiest and foremost simplest to install, maintain and to find help articles on.

HubSpot CMS

Okay, I took a look at the Sales Lion website and read through some of the content written. I also have seen HubSpot on my own several times in the last year or so. Nice CMS system. This is an easy way such as WP to create and maintain a website. Although it takes time to learn the CMS system and apply it. The same applies to WP. You have to have at least some minimal HTML knowledge, CSS and programming knowledge to get the results you want to achieve. As a Webmaster I install these Content Management Systems and help manage website that use these types of systems.

It is still a time consuming task even for a intermediate tech savvy individual to maintain a website designed by one of these CMS‘s. Also keep in mind that one of the thing’s that makes WP so popular is the fact that  it is completely free and can be simple to install even if your a beginner for the most part. But most of these individuals eventually require an experienced Webmaster to design the site for them or they are left with the choices given to them by WP. This industry has made some significant gains in the last 3 years and still continues to remain popular because of the ease of use for most individuals and the fact that these kinds of websites are very search engine friendly.
